Q: What is Alpha?
A: Alpha is the world's first 3D printed custom fit metal wristwatch. The watch is anatomically tailored to the owner's wrist by taking a 3D scan of their arm and matching the watches designed shape exactly to it.
Q: How much does the watch cost?
A: $499 for 3D Printed Stainless Steel up to $2999 for 3D Printed Titanium Watch.
Q: Can I get one of the first watches?
A: Yes, we are selling 10 units as part of our Launch Series. The launch series watch is 3D Printed Titanium and is priced at $1,999. It also includes a tour our facility, meet and greet with the team, and a custom fitting by our engineers.
Q: When are deliveries expected to begin?
A: The launch series will be delivered starting in March of 2018. A launch party will be held in May to celebrate deliveries.
Q: What do you mean when you say the watch is matched to the owner's wrist?
A: We use a high-tech 3D scanner to create a detailed computer model of each owner's wrist. This computer model of the owner's wrist is then input into our proprietary software that adjusts the watch band to the exact anatomy of the owner's wrist so it fits them perfectly.
Q: Is it a men's or women's watch?
A: It is designed for both men and women.
Q: Can you have a right or left handed version?
A: Yes, the watch can be made for either the right or left hand of a person.
Q: Is it comfortable to wear?
A: Yes, that is one of the major benefits of it being custom tailored to your wrist.
Q: Is the watch waterproof?
A: Yes, up to Ten meters.
Q: Is the watch shock resistant?
A: Yes, the watch has been designed to withstand 10g.
Q: How do I know the watch is genuine Synchronos when buying?
A: We track each watch through our Synchronos Blockchain. Every time a watch is sold it is tracked through our Blockchain to ensure it is authentic.
Q: What if the watch doesn’t fit in the future?
A: We offer refitting services for the lifetime of the watch.
Q: How precise in Alpha?
A: Alpha has been engineered to the finest Swiss watch making standards. It complies with the most stringent Swiss time keeping standards for wrist watches.
Q: What is the warranty?
A: One year.
Q: Does the watch need to be serviced?
A: We recommend servicing the watch bi-annually.
Q: How do you print metal?
A: We use a process call DMLS (direct metal laser sintering). It is a high-tech process that uses lasers to melt metal powder layer by layer to create the final parts.
Q: Why use 3D printing?
A: 3D printing allows us to custom make each watch for every owner. It also allowed us to design a watch that is organic and geometrically complex. No traditional manufacturing process supports this. The benefits are that watch is very comfortable, has a mind-blowing design, and is unique to each owner.
Q: What 3D scanner do you use?
A: We use a commercially available 3D scanner, although we cannot disclose at this time which one. The process is safe, painless, and only takes a few minutes.
Q: What do you do with my scan data once you are done with it?
A: We securely store your scan data on our encrypted servers. At your request we can delete all scan data from our servers and send you the file for safe keeping should you want another Synchronos watch in the future.
Q: How do I become a retailer or distributor?
A: Email email@example.com
Q: What type of watch movement is used?
A: It is a Swiss mechanical movement (SELLITA-SW210-1).
Q: How long has alpha been in development?
A: Two years.
Q: Why is the company named Synchronos?
A: It refers to how the watch is matched to the owner. The product is in synchronicity with the person. Chronos was also the God of Time in Greek Mythology.
Q: What is the significance of the logo?
